Sacred Earth Community Garden

Nestled in the heart of Shawnee, Sacred Earth Community Garden provides a safe and nurturing space for youth to come and learn about being an urban gardener. But it’s more than a garden that grows food for the community, it promotes positiveness in the lives of at-risk youth. Come plant a seed of wisdom, knowledge, and enrichment for both the youth and the community.

We're a vibrant 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to nurturing Louisville's under-resourced neighborhoods through the power of fresh, local food and youth empowerment. We offer a green haven where families can access healthy produce, learn essential gardening skills, and deepen their connection to the earth.

Fall into this season volunteering with us. Join us in our garden for preparation of fall and over-wintering efforts. You’ll work alongside our YUGS (young urban gardeners) to encourage and mentor them as they learn about prepping and cultivation in urban gardening.
