Join Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Agent Donavan Moore and JCMGA Community Outreach for our Winter Sowing and Traditional Seed Sowing Workshops.  This Educational Opportunity is welcome to JCMGA, Neighbors, Friends, Adults and Children.

  • Seed Swap Table – Bring seeds to share and find seeds from dozens of varieties offered from our organizations and others.

  • Kids Activity – Kids will be instructed on how to build a Bug House for their own gardens and will take home their creation.

  • Shop our Garden Market - Handcrafted and curated items for home and garden will be available for purchase.

  • 10:30 AM Winter Sowing Workshop - Learn to ‘Winter Sow’ seeds and access seed varieties perfect for this process. Q&A with Master Gardeners having years of experience in this technique (participants should bring a clear or translucent milk jug).

  • 11:30 AM Traditional Seed Sowing Workshop - Watch as our Master Gardeners take you through the finer points of traditional seed sowing basics. Q&A with Master Gardeners experienced in this technique.

  • Bake Sale and Soup Kitchen - We’ll be serving breakfast pastries, coffee & tea. Two varieties of house made soup, bread, and assorted baked goods will also be available for sale.

In preparation for the Garden Market at Paristown this year, a group of our members is planning on hosting Crafting Wednesdays at CHPC.  Our goal is to have all projects completed, priced and ready for sale by March 31st.
