Continuing Education Opportunities

2017 – In The Garden Series  Programs offer participants a small group learning experience. The programs are taught by gardeners within their own gardens. Participation is limited to 15. May 18  6:30pm  Whitehall Woodland Garden (Lexington Road)  “Shade Garden Design – Using Variety, Texture & Color”  with Ralph Archer

May 20 and August 5  Time TBD   Iroquois Park area  “Veggie Gardening: 1) Winter/spring 2) Summer/Fall” with Terry Gibson

June 4  Time TBD  40220 area  “Raising Chickens in Your Backyard” with Judy Buckler

June 24 and July 29  Time TBD  St. Matthews, near Waggener High School  “Pollinator Gardening Through the Season”  with Allison Foster & June Sandercock

Gardens will be available for touring at separate locations through the day with these themes:

  • Soil Health & Companion Planting
  • Straw-bale gardening
  • Growing fruits and chickens
  • Crop Rotation
